It’s the last Tuesday in July, so I’ll be brief: What’s today worth to you?
Think about it now, wherever you are. The sun is shining in Rochester, NY. The lawn has greened a bit since the rain (and relentless watering by my husband). New grass seed has sprouted weeds, but it’s a beginning. The rabbit hops between houses, foraging for food. A runner sprints on the pavement, slows, checks her time, and begins again. The cardinal perches upon the branch of a white ash tree; a single drop of blood on a green canvas. A dog slows his gait to sniff. Hello! A small voice calls out. The family begins to stir.
“Nothing is worth more than this day.” – Goethe
Make today count.
