Have you ever put on a shirt or other article of clothing on backwards or inside out? Have you ever worn it that way for an entire day without noticing? And no one said anything to you?
I have a long history of wearing clothing backwards and inside out. One time when I was on a date with a really cute guy, he pointed out that my red dress was on backwards. How could I not know? I was so embarrassed and quickly changed things around. He married me anyway.
Not too long ago, I played the best tennis I ever had when I wore my shirt inside out. It wasn’t until after I had won my match that I realized the seams of my shirt were on the outside. When I pointed this out to my tennis partner, she said, “I was going to tell you, but you were playing really well, so I didn’t.”
Recently, I went to yoga class with my pants on backwards. I have to admit, that my pants felt a little weird during class. But it was dark in the studio. Nobody noticed, and more importantly nobody cared.
The moral to this story is: Good things can happen when you unwittingly wear your clothes backwards or inside out.
I wonder if we all try to embrace our inner backwardness and inside outs, we might just have a better day.
What’s your story?
P.S. Have you tried this little diversion yet? Type in the words ‘let it snow’ in Google. Watch your screen and the snow will accumulate until you either wipe it with your mouse or click defrost. 🙂
