mommy musings book

Kids are good for you.

You are here: Home / mommy musings book

MOMMY MUSINGS: Lessons on Motherhood, Love, and Life celebrates the big and small events, and conundrums, that I discovered in my own motherhood journey.

Now available on amazon.com, Mommy Musings offers nineteen unexpected and uplifting true stories, each followed by a lesson and invitation to notice life’s joy and wonder. While the stories in this book are derived from my parenting experience, I hope you will discover your own stories and lessons to use and share along your journey into motherhood.

MOMMY MUSINGS is not just a parenting book.

It appeals to all readers who enjoy memoirs – for MOMMY MUSINGS is a parenting memoir too. In searching for insight on which books about motherhood women request most often, I turned to my local library. According to one librarian: “There’s a shortage of funny essays like [those written by] Nora Ephron and Erma Bombeck.”

As she directed me to shelves of best-selling memoir-type books she said, “Women have a desire for stories that read like your best friend is talking to you. It’s also gotta read like fiction. And don’t use the word essays. It scares readers off.”

Funny, personal memoirs about raising and spending time with one’s kids or about children growing up in a quirky household, are hot sellers on Amazon.  With so many books out there and more published every day, it’s challenging to stand apart from the crowd without using expletives.

I find humor-in-the-mundaneness of everyday life (sans expletives) that Erma Bombeck portrayed so well in her newspaper columns. My goal is not only to make moms laugh, but also to remind mothers everywhere that they must live aware, awake, and inspired – even when cleaning up poop in the bathtub.

Now you can buy my book on Amazon!
