I feel pretty good today and I just wanted to let everyone know why. I’m fundraising for the Buy Miles for SportsNet cause. SportsNet is a great little program that helps people with disabilities stay healthy and active with adaptive sports and recreation, and really needs donations to keep it going.
If you were injured or acquired a health condition that significantly affected your strength, endurance, or mobility, wouldn’t you want to have opportunities to stay healthy and active?
SportsNet can help anybody do anything, like ride a bike, play a round of golf, or compete on a sports team. No one likes to think of getting injured, or acquiring a disease, but s#!t happens and we’re fortunate that we have SportsNet in Rochester.
I’ve donated to a fair share of causes, sponsored people in walks and runs, bought raffle tickets, candy bars, popcorn, and cookies. I don’t usually ask, but would you donate a few bucks to help a cause I’m really passionate about?. Here’s the link to my fundraising page. It’s on a cheeky site called Crowdrise, which makes donating fun and social. There, you can donate, tell a a friend or two, start your own fundraiser, maybe even win a cool prize. It’s all on the website (and it’s kind of addicting, too).
Every dollar I help raise is doubled, thanks to a great guy who leads the Robert A. Tortorella Foundation, Inc. (Can you guess his name?) You can also read about some of the people who benefit from SportsNet on SportsNetNY.org
Thanks and remember, if you don’t give back, no one will like you. 😉
With gratitude,
Kris
P.S. If you donate at least $27 to my fundraiser (or any fundraiser on crowdrise) by September 10th, you’ll automatically be entered to win a $100 Moosejaw gift card (for cool clothes) and a $100 donation to your favorite cause (which is hopefully mine…sorry for being so presumptuous).

Wow Kris, this is a great program…I usually love to Rochester-bash but we’re pretty lucky to have SportsNet in Rochester. Thanks for sharing the information!
