It’s kind of interesting to know that I can figure out what I did 365 days ago by searching: my computer, my PDA (yes I still have one, but hoping for an iPhone), my email (I archive and rarely delete), my social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter, and my blog (the web never forgets!).
Since I’m writing this on Saturday, October 9, you will most likely be reading this a day late. Here’s my list:
- Wrote a brief review of The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society (I never published it and I don’t know why. Hmmm…)
- Read some techy stuff on mashable and re-tweeted it.
- Visited my Facebook page.
- There was no school – so I watched my son play with a friend.
- Worked out, but can’t remember exactly what I did.
- Walked Ruby.
- Got a hair cut.
- I checked and updated my calendar (and wished for an iPhone).
- Attended Malcolm Gladwell lecture at University of Rochester with my friend Joanne. It was raining.
- Went for drinks after the lecture (restorative cosmopolitan and Guiness – is there any other kind?). Discussed exactly how miscalibration and overconfidence applies to parenting. Joanne and I came up with more questions than answers, and considered that as parents we may unwittingly praise our kids too much, encourage our kids to avoid making mistakes, and give them a false sense of confidence. (are we hard on ourselves, or what?) In the end, we concluded that men are way more prone to overconfidence than women.
- Wrote a post about Miscalibration and Overconfidence.
So, what did you do?
